One of the biggest questions I get asked is How do you meal plan? When people come to my house they see a board in my kitchen with what we are having for dinner that week as well as breakfast , lunch , and snack options. See with my kids home 24/7 the question that I used to hear all day is “what’s for breakfast, lunch dinner?” So I came up with the board, which eliminated that question. But it did more than that, it helped me be more organized, save money, and actually motivated my kids to start helping cook.
So how do I do it? Well, at the beginning of the month. I come up with my dinner plans. Usually these are easy meals to prepare and kid friendly. When I want to change it up, I look on Pinterest for new recipes. Now here’s the beauty, once you have done this once, you can literally recycle your menu every month. This way you only eat the same thing once a month. My breakfast and lunch options are usually the same, with a new thing added every week. For example this week we are having the usual cereal, oatmeal, egg tacos, but week 1 I’ll add biscuits, week 2 pancakes, week 3 omelettes, week 4 egg sandwiches. You get the picture! And then I do exactly the same thing for lunch and for snacks.
At the beginning of the week, I make my grocery and stick to it, this helps us save tons of money. Never go to the grocery store blind, you will get into budget trouble (trust me on that!).
Meal planning does take some work at first, but it is completely worth it once you have done it. However, if you are completely overwhelmed by this idea or think that you don’t have time, I have curated complete and easy dinners for 4 weeks (6 days a week) with clickable links. Many of these dinners are healthy and/or low carb. I like to cook with simple ingredients that don’t have a lot of additives. This ebook takes the guess work out of planning dinners every week. The best part is that the product is recyclable meaning you only eat the same thing once a month. Now go spend some time with your little bugaroos, and simplify your menu planning.
